Transform your life with the power of your mind

The History of the Law of Attraction

You’ve heard the phrase “mind over matter” before.

Maybe it was regarding how the medical field is changing to take advantage of the “placebo effect”, which creates measurable changes in the body due only to expectation in the mind.

Or maybe it was about the improvement in performance of Olympic athletes that came from practicing mental visualization techniques, resulting in not only better technique but a physically stronger body as well.

Or perhaps it was the story of a grandmother that, in the heat of the moment, was able to lift a riding lawnmower off of her granddaughter only to find she was completely unable to lift the same piece of machinery later.

No matter where you may have seen it in action, “mind over matter” is a concept that we all know and recognize and that few truly know how to fully harness.

The mind is one of the most complex structures on the face of this planet and its mysteries are still being unlocked to this day. What may have been considered pure fantasy mere decades ago is now becoming scientific truth!

One such concept that’s finally moving out of the realm of “mumbo jumbo” and into reality is the Law of Attraction.

Based on the principle of the universe that similar energies are attracted to each other, the Law of Attraction brings attention to our individual thoughts and feelings and shows how we can control them so as to make our dreams truly come to life.

What is the Law of Attraction?

“Like attracts like.”

Therein lies the heart of the Law of Attraction.

Just as the universe around us is, at its core, made up of different types of energy, so too are both we and our thoughts simply energy.

But all energy isn’t the same. Similar to how gravity, electricity, and heat are different forms of energy, our thoughts are built of varying types of energy as well. Negative thoughts, for example, are completely separate from positive thoughts.

And just as a larger planet has a stronger gravitational pull, the stronger our thoughts are, the more likely they are to attract similar energies.

This is the basis of the Law of Attraction: regular, powerful thoughts of one type of energy will bring in that same energy from the universe.

Think of your thoughts as a magnet. The more positivity you pay attention to, the more grateful you feel, the more love you express, the stronger your magnet becomes for those same types of feelings and emotions and, as a result, the more positive energies you will attract.

But, just like other laws, the Law of Attraction doesn’t discriminate. If you fill your life with negativity by seeing only the greed and selfishness in others, by wishing harm, and by expecting the worst from a situation, that type of energy will also flow into you from the universe.

Positivity attracts positivity equally as much as negativity attracts negativity.

It’s the law of the universe.

Where Did the Law of Attraction Come From?

While you may have just recently heard about the life-changing effects of this universal law, its power has been harnessed for centuries.

Spiritual leaders such as Buddha were well aware of the effect the mind has on reality. “All that we are,” Buddha once said, “is the result of what we have thought.”

Our reality is shaped by our own thoughts.

Jesus too spoke on the power of the mind, saying, “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Jesus knew that the key to attaining our desires was in true belief that we will receive them.

The key is our own will power, the power of the mind.

The Law of Attraction as it is understood in its modern-day form can be traced back to Phineas Quimby from the early 19th century. He taught that a belief solidified by the mind can by physically created in the body in the form of disease.

And while Quimby’s teachings were primarily concerned with the physical health of the body, the concept of attraction spread to all elements of existence when it exploded in popularity during the 20th century with books like Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill in 1937 and You Can Heal Your Life in 1984 by Louise Hay.

Even more public attention was brought to the universal principle by the incredibly successful The Secret in 2006 and the following book in 2007.

And while the rise in popularity of the Law of Attraction is helping it to become more widely accepted, many people still don’t fully understand the true complexities and power of this amazing law.

How Do I Use the Law of Attraction?

All it takes is imagining something you want and the universe will give it to you, right?

Wrong.

The Law of Attraction is a force that’s harder to control than you’d think.

Tapping into the powers of attraction takes hard work and discipline as well as knowing the proper techniques.

For instance, in order to truly reap all the benefits that the Law of Attraction can offer, one must first learn to master their own thoughts. Without taking the time to control your mind, you may accidently fall into negative thinking and completely counteract your positive thoughts.

One way to start training your mind is by practicing three key techniques:

Each of these will help you to hone your brain power so that you can fully direct your thoughts towards your goals, dreams, and desires.

Think of it like whittling: the sharper you can make your blade (and the more focused you can make your mind), the easier it is to shape the piece of wood (and your own life).

The quickest and easiest way of sharpening your mind is by using our proven techniques developed by experienced guides. That way, you’ll not only be sure you are performing the proper techniques, you’ll also get detailed instructions that’ll make your training even more effective.

What’s more, we’ll also help you attain a more intense level of concentration with our advanced MP3 audio courses so that you can tap into the Law of Attraction more deeply than ever.

They’ll give you the knowledge and focus you need to truly bring your state of awareness to the next level.
